Ricochet's Shuttle
Why the Shuttle Service Is Essential
Ricochet’s shuttle service helps reduce barriers caused by the distance between resources in the West Island and supports individuals in their daily transportation needs.
It provides access to a wide range of essential services, including:
-
Direct access to Ricochet’s services.
-
Transportation to other resources when the Ricochet Center is at full capacity, ensuring that no one is left without support.
-
Important appointments, such as:
-
medical consultations;
-
housing visits;
-
job interviews;
-
legal appointments;
-
work-related transportation;
-
and much more.
-
-
Social reintegration steps.
-
Outreach to people living on the street: checking for immediate needs such as shelter, food, clothing, transportation or psychosocial support.
This service promotes mobility, safety, dignity and ensures a compassionate and consistent presence within the community.
How the Shuttle Service Works
The shuttle service is available on request and is tailored to the individual needs and realities of each person we support.
During the Day: Personalized Transportation
In the morning and throughout the day, the shuttle is primarily used for:
-
Personalized transportation for beneficiaries to their appointments and essential errands.
-
Operational needs of the organization (food pickups, donation pickups, etc.).
-
Responding to specific requests depending on needs and priorities at the moment.
In the Evening: A Regular Community Route
In the evening, the shuttle follows a set route to ensure:
-
a consistent presence in key areas of the West Island;
-
support for people who do not have a place at the Ricochet Center;
-
direct outreach to “check in” with the community;
-
the ability to respond quickly to unexpected situations or urgent needs.
