New AJOI executive director has big plans for outreach organization
New AJOI executive director Tania Charron has big plans for outreach organization.
Tania Charron is the new executive director of AJOI, a West Island outreach organization dedicated to helping at-risk teenagers and young adults. Charron replaces founding executive director Benoit Langevin who was elected to Pierrefonds-Roxboro borough council in November.
AJOI staff work out of modest offices above a mattress store on Gouin Blvd. in Ste-Geneviève. Funding for salaries and programs come from 45 private and public sources. Pierrefonds-Roxboro pays for the sports and open-gym programs as well as the salary for one of AJOI’s eight street workers.
